KHS Mustang Basketball Season Highlights

May 10, 2019

The Boy’s Mustang Basketball team took a great stride in the right direction in the 2018-2019 season. In Head Coach Monte Cole’s 2nd year with the program, the Mustangs finished the year with a solid record of 16-19, and finished 5th place in a tough UIL 6A- District 22, with a record of 7-9, just missing the playoffs. Led by All-District Honorable Mention Senior Ryan Michie, seniors Carson Dick, Kyle Burton, Ian Extra, Lief Kindig, Carson Cato, and Gentry Carr, the senior class led a rebound from a dismal 2017-2018, where the Mustangs finished 7-25. The Mustangs look to take the next step with returning juniors, All-District Honorable Mentions Walker Blaine and Nick Luckett, as well as Caleb Donovan, Blake Porter, and Nick Neuman. The mustangs also return sophomores, 1st Team All-District and District Newcomer of the Year Billy Gould and Jake Nichols. The Mustangs have their sights set on the playoffs and beyond in the 2019-2020 year, and start off their journey in the New Caney Spring League, as well as the Rice and University of Houston tournaments in the summer. The Mustangs are working hard in the offseason and are prepared to take on the new season. Go Mustangs!
