Do you have an affinity for flipping? Interested in improving flexibility and strength? Have a background in gymnastics, tumbling, or cheer? Diving may be the sport for you. The KHS Diving team is a young but successful team in the athletic program. Diving is a sport that combines flexibility, strength, drive, and guts and is incredibly rewarding.

Noah Weidrich (9), who started diving last summer, remarked that being on “this team has pushed him beyond [his] limits and expectations and has made [him] take charge and do things [he] never thought were possible”. Garret Gowen (10) just started diving in October 2018 and quickly progressed in his skill and technique. In the championship season, he won first place at Varsity Districts and 11th at Region. He commented that “diving has opened [his] eyes to the idea that power isn’t everything; in fact, it’s better to breathe, think, and focus on the task in front of you.” Danielle Esparza (10) joined the team during its 2018 season and placed fifth and 15th at Varsity Districts and Region, respectively. These three divers showcase the potential that you can reach as a member of this team and how diving benefits them inside and outside of the pool. If you would like additional information on how to get involved or join the team, please contact Coach Robinson.
