The Elite Team was formed in March 2023 to assist fillies who want to dance at the collegiate level after high school. After the tryout process, 9 Fillies were asked to become part of the Fillies Elite Team. These dancers practice extra hours than the Fillies and have extra demands placed upon them to prepare for nationals in February. So far, the elite team has attended a UDA camp, learned two pieces of choreography, and received training and cleaning from college coaches and professional dancers.
At the Universal Dance Association (UDA) camp, the elite team won a bid to nationals. They also had 6 dancers qualify for All-American. These dancers learned new choreography in genres ranging from jazz to hip-hop to pom.
Currently, the elite team is preparing for their first contest in December where they will compete in the jazz and pom categories. At nationals, the elite team hopes to make an impression on the judges and show the rest of the dance world what Texas dance teams are all about!
