Hello Mustangs! The golf teams are excited to be gearing up for their fall tournaments beginning this month and next month. Freshman have completed tryouts and JV and Varsity teams are undergoing qualifying rounds to determine which team they will start competition on.

Here is the September and October schedule for all the teams:

Boys Varsity A: ​October 23-24, Bentwater

Boys Varsity B:​

• October 19, The Woodlands
• ​​October 30-31, Atascocita Pinehurst

Boys Junior Varsity: October 27, Lake Windcrest

Girls Varsity A:​

• September 25-26, Gleanloch Pines
• ​​October 23-24, Bentwater

Girls Varsity B:​October 30-31, Atascocita

Girls Junior Varsity:  October 26, Cypresswood

We’d love to have you out on the course supporting our Mustangs. Here’s a few basic rules for watching golf in person:

1. Shhhhhhhh, it’s not a sport where you cheer loudly especially when a player is addressing the ball or hitting.
2. Never, ever touch a ball
3. Stay as close to the cart path as possible, only moving closer to see the green.

Here are some golf terms for this month:

• Par – The base number of shots for a player to complete the hole. Ranges between 3-5.
• Birdie – When a player completes the hole in 1 shot fewer than par.
• Eagle – When a player completes the hole in 2 shots fewer than par.
• Bogey – When a player completes the hole in 1 shot more than par (double, triple, quad bogeys follow).
