What is the most prominent lesson/thing you’ve learned while in quarantine?

“One important lesson that I’ve learned during quarantine is that self care is very important to mental health and the overall wellbeing of a person. I personally find it difficult to find time to dedicate to myself, because I tend to take care of others before I think about myself. Through the quarantine, I’ve truly been forced to devote more time to the things I love, and more importantly be able to take the extra free time for myself. Although it’s been frustrating and upsetting that the most exciting parts of my senior year won’t be happening as I imagined, I have enjoyed this time that has forced me to care about my own mental health while stuck at home. It’s difficult to think that taking care of yourself first is not that important, but I’ve realized that I won’t continue to grow as a person without doing so. I’ve battled many things throughout high school and although it took a quarantine to make it happen, I now know that I can become a better person for others by helping myself heal first!” – Anna Fuentes (12)
