Kingwood High School Orchestra is currently preparing for their UIL performances, practicing difficult pieces of repertoire to present to judges in hopes of obtaining a score of straight ones. Kingwood High School’s Chamber and Sinfonia orchestras are also combining with the Kingwood High School’s wind ensemble to perform pieces by Bizet, Rimsky-Korsakoff, and Elgar for their UIL Symphony Orchestra performance. The Symphony Orchestra consists of not only the string instruments (cello, viola, violin, bass, piano, and harp) but also all of the wind, brass, and percussion instruments. This is a wonderful opportunity for these two musical groups at KHS to come together and work on wonderful and challenging pieces played by many professional orchestras today. Kingwood High School Symphony takes on this amazing feat of representing our school and programs well to go on to master these songs and try to gain superior ratings at UIL.
