Say Hello to Emerson Walker – Our New Creative Editor!

We’re super excited to introduce Emerson Walker, the newest member of the Mustang Monthly team! Emerson is stepping in as our Creative Editor and the writer behind our newest feature: the Inspiration Digest.

So… what’s that? Think of it as your monthly dose of good vibes, creative stories, and cool people you probably didn’t know lived right here in our community. Emerson’s goal is to bring us all a little closer by telling stories that matter—whether it’s a quirky Kingwood tradition, a funny local legend, or an interview with someone doing awesome things under the radar.

The Inspiration Digest will be packed with personality. One issue might feature a local artist, the next might have a crowdsourced story from a student, or a spotlight on someone who’s made a quiet but powerful impact. If it’s inspiring, surprising, or just plain fun—you’ll find it here.

As Creative Editor, Emerson will also help give Mustang Monthly a fresh new look with engaging layouts and visuals that match the energy of the stories we tell.

Bottom line? Emerson’s here to help us see our school and community in a whole new way. So get ready to flip the page and find something unexpected—because with the Inspiration Digest, there’s always a new story waiting to be told.

Tamir Shaw, Editor-in-Chief, Sports Editor

Tamir is excited to lead Mustang Monthly this year. She is also a senior class officer, treasurer, at KHS and a varsity soccer player for KHS. She is looking forward to capturing what is happening in KHS and the community bringing a fresh look to Mustang Monthly. Tamir will be leading the DECA program for KHS while maintaining her involvement in Mustang Roundup and Stangs Service Day this coming year giving back to the Mustang community. When she is not at school, you will find Tamir practicing and playing club soccer many nights and weekends for the HTX Girls Academy U17 team. Service is important to her core as she continues to be involved in her church community at United City as well as volunteering with special needs through Camp Blessing program.

Emerson Walker, Creative Editor

Emerson Walker is a senior at Veritas Scholars Academy and a Humble ISD resident. Her background in journalism and digital marketing helps her craft content that’s both engaging and impactful. Emerson has collaborated with brands across politics, marketing, and education industries. She is passionate about clear communication, meaningful storytelling, and helping writers grow.
