DECA isn’t just another club—it’s an experience that can change your life. Many students at Kingwood High School have found that DECA offers benefits that go far beyond the classroom.
Our DECA chapter provides many diverse opportunities, from competitive events to scholarships and service, all designed to help students succeed in school and beyond. For many, DECA has become an important part of their high school experience, creating memories and skills that will last a lifetime.
“This next year in DECA, I want to emphasize the joy I’ve gained from being part of this organization. DECA was something totally out of my comfort zone, but since joining, I’ve met some incredible people from across the United States and learned so much about what it means to be productive.” – Kenzie Kouba
The state and international competitions (ICDC) are a major highlight. Our VP of Career Development, Broderick Rosello has embarked on a great program or competitions this year and is ready to take things to the next level. This year the state competition will take KHS DECA on the road to Dallas and internationals (ICDC) to Orlando, Florida.
“Next year, competitions will look a lot different. First and foremost, studying for competitions will become much more organized. Study tools will be much easier to utilize, and we will hold study/practice sessions twice a month. Additionally, the number of people competing and advancing will be significantly higher—we’re aiming for 50 competitors! I promise to make the journey as enjoyable as possible.” – Broderick Rosello
But DECA isn’t just about competitions. It’s about the excitement, inspiration, and lessons you learn along the way. DECA helps you build leadership skills and connects you with a community of supportive friends.
“Joining DECA makes you a member, but soon you’ll realize that DECA becomes a part of you.” – Tamir Shaw
As DECA continues to expand at Kingwood High School, it’s becoming clear that this organization is far more than just an extracurricular activity—it’s an experience that can truly change your life. Whether you’re looking to develop leadership skills, make new friends, or compete at high levels, DECA offers something for everyone.
