Kingwood Cheer Capturing a Spot at State!

Over this past weekend, Kingwood faced a milestone moment as our very own D1 6A competitive cheer program advanced to the finals at the UIL State Spirit Championship. Besides our fierce mustang competition, the UIL team not only secured a spot in the finals, but also showcased their skills and dedication to Kingwood High School, ultimately earning a spot at 12th place.

This not only highlights the program’s growth and talent but also stands as a result of all the hard work and determination of each member of the team. Their competition to the finals is truly seen as an inspiration to the entire Kingwood community, and demonstrating the spirit that defines our cheerleading program, and our own, Kingwood High School.

Shifa Soban is a current junior involved in various activities throughout the school. She is looking forward to capturing the behind the scenes of students and getting more people involved within the community. Additionally, she runs the Humans of KHS page, inspired by Humans of New York on Instagram and the website.

Currently, she is the Kingwood Varsity Cheer Manager, Kingwood TAFE Historian, an active member in STUCO, Class Officer, and a National Educators Rising Ambassador. When not in school, Shifa spends most of her time through various volunteer events and spreading her school pride within Kingwood. She hopes to revive the Humans of KHS page and connect students throughout.
