This past summer, our Kingwood cheer squads were hard at work, learning new chants, cheers, dances, and stunts to raise school spirit this year at games as well as pep rallies. All evaluations received the top awards and highest ribbons. At final evaluations, Freshman won rally, gameday, and sideline, JV won 2nd on rally, and Varsity won 2nd on rally, 1st on cheer, and gameday champions! Additionally, all three teams won top banana on day three! There were also a total of 18 cheerleaders who won All-American Awards, given to cheerleaders who display amazing skills, leadership, and personal values. These outstanding girls were: Addison Barnard, Emberson Raimer, Gracie Worachek, Courtney Thompson, Kenzie Noah, Reese Dillard, Aubrey Wimberly, Lily Smith, Emily Mecredy, Sydney Dress, Jadyn Young, Daniela Anaya, Desiree Costarella, Ellis Exnicious, Lily Henson, Addison Hickman, Allyson Lim, and Alicia Zamarron. Additionally, our phenomenal mascot, Sapphire, also received an All-American. She won best overall for mascots, 2 gold evaluation ribbons, 1 blue evaluation ribbon, and brought home the spirit stick!
Kingwood Cheer ended this summer with their annual cheer clinic on August 12th. They hosted tons of girls, ages 5-13, who learned a cheer, chant, dance, and some small stunts. Come join us later this season to watch our mini-cheerleaders at a Varsity football game, currently on October 19th.
All three teams are so excited for our seasons this school year and can’t wait to cheer on our teams. Way to go Mustangs!
