KHS Band Goes to TMEA Region!
December 14, 2022
The past 2 weekends, Kingwood High School Band students attended TMEA Region 33 auditions, clinics, and concerts. The first weekend consisted of the first and second stages of tryouts. Over 100 of many instruments auditioned, and they took anywhere around 6-40 people for the second round, depending on the instrument. The auditions took place at Dekaney High School. Out of the 31 members that attended region band tryouts from Kingwood, 15 students advanced to area, 21 made region band, and 4 made district band. Those who made it to region band after auditioning in the second round had the opportunity to participate in a 2-day clinic and concert at Summer Creek High School the following weekend. Region band was a memorable experience and an incredible opportunity for Kingwood High School Band students to grow as musicians and individuals.
