On Friday, February 21st, our very own Kingwood band students competed at the solo and ensemble contest at Humble High School.  In the past few months, students prepared for the contest by practicing their solos with pianists and gathering as ensembles to tune up their pieces.  Kingwood’s musicians received 64 division one ratings in solos and 164 division one ratings in ensembles. Division one ratings are the highest a performer can earn. Several students have advanced to the Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest on June 1st year at Pflugerville High School.  The band will attend the contest with other class 6A schools around Texas in hopes of representing Kingwood well!
