The Mustang’s 2019-2020 season was a great success in many aspects. The Mustangs ended the season in a First Round Loss to State Ranked #10 North Shore. The Mustangs overall compiled a record of 22-11, and 12-4 in district. The Mustangs finished 3rd in a very tough District 22-6A, where they defeated district rival and at the time State Ranked #6 Atascocita for the first time in 3 years.

The Mustangs earned their first playoff berth in 3 years, and their first under Head Coach, Monte Cole. Cole led the Mustangs to their first winning season in the past 3 years, and a subsequent playoff appearance. The Mustangs were led by Seniors Walker Blaine, Nick Luckett, and Nick Neuman. Blaine was a do-it-all player for the Mustangs, finishing the year averaging 12.4pts, 4.5rebs, and 2.3asts per game. Luckett handled the ball and provided 3-point shooting, along with lockdown defense for the Mustangs, as he averaged 7.5pts, 2.1rebs, and 2.6asts per game. Nick Neuman held down the paint for the Mustangs, providing interior defense as well as offense, averaging 10.1pts, 3.9rebs, and 1.6asts per game. These three Seniors anchored the team, and provided the much needed leadership necessary to turn the tide in the program.

The Mustangs are already hard at work preparing for the 2020-2021 season, and will look to returners, Juniors Billy Gould, Jake Nichols, Chris Mullins, Grayson Carroll, Kade Janikula, as well as Sophomores, Demi Areola, CJ Nunn, Tommy Neuman, and Mason Carlos. The Mustangs were recently placed in a very tough District 21-6A, along with North Shore, Beaumont Westbrook, CE King, Humble, Atascocita, and Summer Creek. All teams except CE King and Humble have been state ranked at some point in the season, so the Mustangs have a challenge at hand for the 2020-2021 season.
