2019-2020 College Football Playoff Outlook…

As the college football regular season is coming to a close, the playoff committee will be deciding which four teams will make the playoffs. Ten games have now passed, and it is looking like 5 teams, maybe six teams still have a shot. Three teams, LSU, Ohio State, and Clemson, have guaranteed spots assuming they win out, leaving the fourth spot up for grabs. The committee has to decide between four one-loss teams, Georgia, Alabama, Utah, and Oklahoma. This will certainly be a hard decision because each team has a key weakness. Alabama lost to a top team in LSU, and starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is out for the season. The other three teams all have one forgettable loss to unranked opponents. This includes Georgia’s loss to South Carolina, Utah’s loss to USC, and Oklahoma’s loss to TCU. Georgia has the best odds having beat two ranked teams and a conference championship game against LSU. Let’s not forget Oklahoma who has fairly good odds and can be a comeback team, beating rank 11 Baylor by a mere three points and an upcoming matchup against ranked Oklahoma State. Oklahoma also has a rematch with Baylor in their conference championship to prove themselves again. Utah has lost to USC and are in a weak PAC-12 conference, but could easily slip in if the above teams lose at any point. This has been a great year of many evenly matched teams that at any point could take the lead and making it one of the most interesting years for college football.
