KHS Orchestra students who will be performing with the All-Region Orchestra

Every year, hundreds of students from multiple schools come together to audition for Region Orchestra. Students work from May of the preceding school year until the fall of the next school year preparing 2 difficult etudes to present to judges in hopes of gaining a spot in this program. If selected (and placed into either the Philharmonic or Symphony Orchestras), the students have only a few weeks to prepare the pieces they will play for the public, to be ranked and placed in their chair order. This year, 54 Kingwood High School Orchestra students were selected to be in the Region XXXIII 2019 Orchestras (27 in Philharmonic and 27 in Symphony).

Recently, these 54 students went to Humble High School in order to audition to be placed in their chairs. 3 Kingwood High School students were selected to lead their respective sections and were given the 1st chair position, and 4 students were selected to be 2nd chair. The students are currently preparing for their clinic and concert on Saturday November 9th at Atascocita High School where Kingwood High will represent nearly half of the TMEA Region Orchestra.
